QotD: This One Goes To 11

I totally agree. This documentary is totally fun and make one think "Awwwwe" about the Johns.

Also, Clamsy may not tell you this, but I know for a fact that she was at South By Southwest when they premiered this film. She was part of a journalism crew that interviewed the director. Degrees of separation between her and the Johns - TWO! Although I am pretty sure they recognize her at concerts, so they degrees of separation may be a tentative one.

Hands down - Spinal Tap. Nothing else compares.
My one e-friend's husband was in that. He was the kid talking about the guy who wanted TMBG to sign his ankle. Coincidentally, ankle guy lives in NJ and goes to all the shows we go to, and used to try to hit on me.
This was what made me stop going to their shows. The fans in this film so creeped me out in a way that I just couldn't bear it. I saw *just* enough of myself in them that I had to have my own personal little intervention. Back in the Mink Car days, I could have *totally* baked them cookies. Shudder.
Uh oh. I just sent them some homemade cookies. I made them in the shape of birdhouses and snail shells and James K. Polk.

Was that bad?

/not really

Duh.
hey...check out my latest post. New Pixies tribute album coming out tomorrow with a killer TMBG cover on it...thought you might be interested!

I've dreamt about the Johns before...seriously, two different vivid dreams, one where I was trying to go see them play at a college but they kept moving the show so I couldn't see them and then another where they were my friends and they asked my husband to help out on guitar. Very weird.

And the sign painted on the bridge (I don't want the world...I only want your half) is on a rural road outside Salem NH. I am pretty sure it's THE bridge as it's very very old and they are from New England. If they thank you for your cookies and you become great friends make sure you ask. ;)
WOOT! I checked it out. TMBG old school... Guitar and accordion! (And a drum. Or drum machine.)

<old timer voice> I remember back in the day before Lincoln came out and it was just two guys, a guitar, an accordion, and a drum machine... And a big stick... </old timer voice>

Thanks for letting me know!
